We don’t think there could be a better start to the New Year than to profile some of the festive activities that have benefited from the Port Christmas Community Fund. Throughout January we will be profiling many of the fantastic organisations, schools and charities who have benefited from the fund. Today we start with Women’s Aid, a fantastic organisation which is the lead agency for supporting women and children who are victims of domestic abuse in our area. We were delighted to provide £1,000 to buy Christmas dinner packs for 25 families currently availing of Women’s Aid services. We also provided a donation to buy a small gift of thanks for each of the 38 staff members in Women’s Aid who do an unbelievable job in often the most difficult of circumstances.
