Richard Johnston has more than 20 years’ experience of working as an Economist in the private, public and academic sectors.
He is currently Director of the Executive Insight and Strategy Unit in The Executive Office, advising the First and Deputy First Ministers and Head of the NI Civil Service on a broad range of economic policy and competitiveness issues.
He is a Chartered Director and has served on a range of Boards and Ministerial Advisory panels. Richard engages with the Boards and Executive Teams of Invest NI, the Strategic Investment Board, Councils, Permanent Secretaries and is in regular contact with Ministers and Special Advisers and business representative organisations on economic issues. He is passionate about improving Northern Ireland’s prospects and making the most of, so far, unrealised potential, to the benefit of society.
