Statement Consultative Committee Meeting – 24th July 2020

“Warrenpoint Port hosted a useful dialogue this afternoon with elected representatives, Board members, Harbour Authority business neighbours, and Nippon Gases, the company responsible for the CO2 storage facility at Warrenpoint Port.

“The focus of the discussion was to address local concerns about the visual aspect of the CO2 tanks which will be operational at Warrenpoint Port later this year. Warrenpoint Port and Nippon Gases has already invested more than £ 70,000 in meeting the planning conditions in relation to landscaping and screening of the site. Warrenpoint Port is committed to further evaluation of options for additional screening ahead of the next meeting. Today’s meeting was the first in a series of engagements with various stakeholders to address what else could potentially be done to soften the visual aspect of the tanks.”
