Statement from Warrenpoint Harbour Authority
Following public representation at this morning’s Warrenpoint Harbour Authority AGM, the Board of the Authority can assure the local community that the Harbour remains fully committed to working with the community, for the benefit of all stakeholders. This involves taking into account business demands, environmental concerns and health and safety requirements.
To this end the Authority intends to make representations to our customer, Regen in relation to their current proposal, that they engage at an early stage with the local community to respond to the concerns that have been raised at this mornings AGM.
We understand that the Regen proposal is in the public domain and would re-iterate that WHA did not make the application to Environmental Regulatory Authority in this instance.
